Mighty Him, little me

Do you know that I am afraid of dreaming big?

Do you know that I am afraid of many things in life?

Do you know that I seek escapism when I am afraid?

Do you know that I am telling you, so that I can fight my feeling?

Only God knows how I feel.

Sugar Sugar

Sugar...

Oh Honey, Honey...

You are my candy girl...

And you got me wanting you...

- The Archies

Yes Sugar, you got me wanting you!

---------------------------------------------------

I'm a tea addict first, sugar addict second.

In general, I don't think my tea addiction would bring any problems to me in the future.

But, with my sugar intake that goes along with the tea-drinking habit, I think it would create major problems to my health in 30 years time (or less than that)!

I consume 3 teaspoons of sugar every morning together with my hot tea.

Every weekdays morning without fail! And sometimes in the evening too, after work.

I didn't realize that I consume that much until I receive many comments on my sugar intake recently.

To make it worst, I also add sugar to the 3-in-1 Nescafe (occasionally I love to drink coffee too), which already had sugar and other additives in the premix.

I keep trying to overcome this addiction. Hmmm.. Not really.. I don't try at all. The correct term is that I keep thinking, how to overcome this addiction.

No wonder I've became flabby and flabby by day. Pfft

I could only think one solution to overcome this addiction constant worry-ness.

---------------------------------------------------

Maybe by singing this song while drinking my sugary tea will make me less guilty!

Baju Kurung by Future MIL

Insha' Allah if I'm marrying him, she'll be my Mother-In-Law.

Some people say that having a MIL is a nightmare.

I know mine is not. She's so kind she gave me a Baju Kurung.

She sewed the Baju Kurung herself. Isn't she the sweetest?

Thank You Aunty!

And I was trying to behave as sweet (and polite) as possible in that Baju Kurung yesterday during my friend's daughter Akikah.

Sejuk hati Mak Mertua tengok kan? LOL.

On the Akikah, I'll post a different entry soon!

Till then :)

Syukur

Kuatkan sahaja hati. Mohon kepadaNya untuk berikan kekuatan itu.

Jangan persoalkan. Jangan persoalkan. Jangan persoalkan.

Mungkin ganjarannya bukan di sini.

Tapi ada di sana. Kau tau kan?

Aku hanya ingatkan diri aku sendiri.

'Quarter Ponder'

It has been a month since I hit the magic number.
I reached the quarter of my life (as if I'm gonna live for another 75 years!) last February.
I couldn't be thankful enough of each and every single thing that happened in my life for the last 25 years.
Alhamdulillah.

Still, I feel like I'm in limbo.
I've been pondering a lot.
I know the solutions to what I feel. Indeed, I'm determined to pursue it.
But I'm not patient. I'm in the urgency to have the 'person' that I wish to be to come out sooner.
This 'person' is inside me. This 'person' is myself.
She is the 'better' me.

Of what I am now, I won't tell you.
I am as what you see me.
Maybe I'm not to your liking.
But I am being ME. For now.

I believe this is just a phase. QLC maybe.

And for the 'better' me?

I will keep pondering...

Kakak Angkat

I have a major girl crush on Kakak Angie.

When I was in UK, I would buy every magazine that had her as the cover.

Almost every week and almost every magazine.

I even tried to look like her or imitate her style, but to no avail :(

I miss my Kakak.

But on the bright side, I save my money from buying all those magazines in Malaysia ;)

World Book Day

I am writing this entry for what we did last Friday.

My favorite companion for my Friday lunch would always be these two girls.

Little Miss Liyana and Little Miss Zaza.

We always fill the time by being chatterbox throughout the 2 hours break.

So many to talk about, so little time.

After that, we would be exhausted. Not good for work either.

So, last Friday, we decided that our Friday Lunch Session should be filled with somewhat more 'meaningful' and 'beneficial' activities other than gossiping.

So we celebrated the World Book Day.

Not really a book. I know.

We had our lunch and off we went to MPH to get Tun M's latest memoir.

But as usual, don't judge a book by its cover.

Tun M's had this 'manja' pose on the cover of his book. It doesn't reflect the content of the book. So deceiving.

Hoho. But still, Tun M's pose is so cute ;)

I was showing off the book to my colleague. Look how little Miss Z and Miss L are compared to a 'giant' me.

I fell asleep when reading some of the 'serious' chapter on Malaysia's history, mostly happened during his adolescent life, from his point of view.

I blame myself for falling asleep. Not the book's fault.

But I really enjoy the chapter on the power couple's relationship, Tun's childhood and also on his career as a doctor.

That's it, a quick introduction of the memoir. I'm now in Chapter 14. Not even half. Pfft

Off to meet the girls now!

Ttyl :)

YZ in LA

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

I'm loving her style! I've been an avid follower of her since last year and this is yet HER BEST LOOK!

She could pull off this trend like no other! Yuna, if only I could wear those TURBAN like you!

I'm a fan of red lipstick and her full lips is just so PERFECT!

PERFECT!

Qi, you are such a lucky guy!

Coliseum Cafe, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman

People close to me know that I like history. Not that much these days. But very much during my school days.

I can talk about history for hours. I can bore you to death. I might amuse you with the stories too.

I also mastered the Tingkatan Tiga & Tingkatan Lima Sejarah's textbook.

What a boring kid I was. That's what happened when you sent your kid to a boarding school.

-------------------------

Back to my original intention of writing this entry.

One fine day (on weekdays), I went to KL all the way from Putrajaya.

After several attempts before, I managed to drag Boyfie to Coliseum Cafe at Jalan TAR. It was established in 1921. That was like before WWII :0

I first heard about this Cafe from my Fatso's cousins. Why we call us Fatso? Because we live to eat.

#1 Hidup untuk Makan. #2 Makan untuk Hidup. We tried our best to follow Rule #2. But we always ended up with Rule #1. Pfft

The Fatso's said that the waitresses of the Cafe are old Chinese aunties.

Being a boring girl woman I am (since forever), I easily get excited on the idea of old Chinese aunties work in an ancient cafe as waitresses.

Next to Coliseum Theatre. Opposite Kamdar.

Fatso in action. Missing the other Fatso's.

Hunger in Disguise

To get the utmost antic feeling that goes along with the entire ambience, you are advised to put on Sherlock-Holmes-hat @ deerstalker like the Mat Salleh guy at my back.

Service was fast. The waiter that served us named 'Captain Morgan'. He got a name tag like the one we always see on government servants.

I read a review about the waiters' uniforms that looks like they had never been changed for years. And its true!

Captain Morgan

You can't really see the stains on his uniform especially at the front pocket area because of the quality of the pictures that I took. But I swear his shirt was full of food stains and he seemed that he doesn't give a damn about it. Or maybe he thinks he's cool.

We ordered Chicken Chop (RM16.90) and Baked Crab Meat (RM16.90). Captain Morgan offered us Bread and Butter and Boyfie thought it was complimentary. Hell, no! Hohoho.. Four pieces of bread and cold butter cost us maybe RM4.00++. Can't remember the exact price.

Chicken Chop

It was written in the menu that the Chicken Chop will be served with vegetable. I thought the 'vegetable' would be 'typical fresh garden salad' but it wasn't. It was minced vegetable (maybe spinach) that tasteless. Very Popeye-ish. Other than that, the Chicken Chop and the mushroom gravy taste just nice.

I didn't grow muscle like Popeye afterwards. Sad.

Obviously, you can get nicer and cheaper one in other places. Like _____________ and _____________. I forgot the name of the place. I'll blog later.

Boyfie was not happy with the Baked Crab Meat. It wasn't about the taste. It was because of the portion. He thought that it was OVERLY priced.

However, I thought the Baked Crab Meat that was served with mayonnaise, two slices of tomato and lettuce was delicious. But still cannot lawan the famous Crab Meat in Kemaman (can't remember the name of the place again!).

Not a single sight of Chinese aunties :(

I was tempted to try the grilled dish when looking at the waiter pouring the sauce next to the customer's table right before he served it to the them. The sizzling sound and smell made you feel like ordering more food. But I stopped looking at the waiter when I saw Boyfie's meaningful glare at me.

Old bar serving alcoholic drinks

I heard that they serve cheap alcoholic drinks. That's may be the reason why the Mat Sallehs like to go there.
Since I couldn't order any grilled dish anymore, I ordered Cream Caramel (RM4.00) while Boyfie was having 'desserts' of his own. Yes, there is a smoke-free area/bar where you can chill with friends after meal.

In my opinion, the Cafe has low maintenance. Basic maintenance will do. It seems that they maintain the same old furniture for years. The unique part of the Cafe was the frame hanging on its wall and other paraphernalia.

There were old cartoons by Lat, framed newspaper clippings dated 1950's and maps/books that has gone yellow in the bar that can make you feel you are in a different era while you are there.

All these elements make the whole 'rustic/antic' ambiance works out effortlessly. The Cafe has the originality that Old Town or Kluang Station do not have. I believe the originality has made the loyal customers keep coming back.

-------------------------

I'm sure you know why I like this Cafe by now.

And I have one good reason to come back.

I'll definitely drop by again when I feel that the old Chinese aunties are on shift.

The Bam Bam of Our Eyes

Good Girl

This is Raeesa Aulya.

She's all good when she's with Mummy.

No sucking thumb most importantly.

Sucking thumb has became Raeesa's current addiction.

Raeesa can't help it. Because she always feel hungry and she likes Mummy's milk.

Mummy once said that she doesn't want to bear the cost of Raeesa's braces if Raeesa has crooked teeth one day. God forbid.

Yes, Mummy is mean :p

But only sometimes.

Raeesa wants Mummy to love her all the time.

So Raeesa decided that she has to listen to Mummy.

She will be still and quiet whenever she's with Mummy.

-----------------------

Sometimes Raeesa meets Mummy's friend.

Raeesa likes to be with Mummy's friends because Aunties and Uncles love to play with Raeesa.

Raeesa's Aunties and Uncles are handsome and beautiful too *puke*.

Last Saturday, Raeesa played with Aunties and Uncles.

This time, Aunty Azzwaa wore a nice lacey cape. So sexy.

Aunty Azzwaa took Raeesa from Mummy and put Raeesa on her lap.

Raeesa felt really happy.

So Mummy took Raeesa back from Aunty Azzwaa.

LOLOLOLOLOL.

Raeesa, you are such an adorable cutesy.

Red & White

I've always like red and white.

And Dayana seems to know it ;)

As I was taken by surprise of the whole thing that happened that night, Arif was otherwise.

The only thing that Arif didn't know was that Dayana has brought homemade Pavlova and put them in the car that he drove. Pfft

A part of me still doesn't want to believe him.

I think the homemade Pavlova by Dayana deserves a separate entry.

A close-up of photo of the Pavlova would do its justice.

Arif & Dayana

Me & Boyfie

I'm sorry. I might have to rephrase the 'close-up' part.

Yes, the pictures look more like a close-up photo of our face right?!

But I swear this is the best ever Pavlova I've ever tried.

As it was made with love ;)

Arif's 26th & Shifa's 25th

Got it from the title?

Yes, it was Arif's and Shifa's birthday celebration last Saturday, 5 March 2011 at Fullhouse, Sunway Giza.

A combo of belated celebration for the two of us, organized by the sweetest ever Dayana ;)

Dayana said that it was supposed to be a surprise party and she thought that she has failed to make it look like one.

Huh?!

I was surprised I tell you!! Believe me!!

It was just that I just had my botox injection during the day that my face became so tight and emotionless :S

Just look at this face.....

My doctor reminded me not to frown or smile. So the smile ended up like this.

Kidding!

Who needs botox at 25?! I'm grateful with what I am. Alhamdulillah...

And I'm also grateful to have them as my friends. You guys made my day ;)

Back : Syed, Shigim, Anas, Aliza, Ross, Boyfie / Front : Azzwaa, Raeesa, Bday Girl, Bday Boy, Dayana

I appreciate all the efforts that my girl Dayana has put into it. She is such a darling that I lost for words when I wanted to thank her!

The pavlova, the misspelled labels (LOL), the balloons, the people, the venue, the little one (R.A.R), the time, the love, the oyster shot (YIKES!) etc etc etc...

Thanks for everything darling!

I want to hug you again!!

A wonderful night indeed. Bliss ;)

PS : Credit to Boyfie and Azzwaa for the pictures.

Poco-Poco by Batak

I am frustrated with the outcome of the birthday's video. Why can't we rotate video too?! Anyone know how to do so? Tell me if you know..

But the other video, a Poco-Poco song performed by the same band fortunately is much more better. Yes, no tilting head needed.

Enjoy! And ignore the excitement as we danced while seated, in a CAFE, in a HOTEL.

Ultah by Batak

This birthday song was performed by Batak Band at Concorde's Melting Pot Cafe.

Just a simple birthday celebration for Boyfie's 26th birthday.

If the song sounds unfamiliar to you, it's actually an Indonesian Birthday Song that goes something like this...

Panjang umurnya..
Panjang umurnya...
Panjang umurnya....

Serta mulia..
Serta mulia...
Serta mulia....

PS : I smell something fishy.. Hihi..
